With 12 years of experience as an accountant at various regional accountancy firms, Joris knows the SME world inside out. He has assisted various companies in, amongst other things, acquisition and merger processes. His motto: don’t work with band-aids, but go to the root of a problem. When carrying out due diligence investigations, he was able to quickly expose the weaknesses and opportunities within an organisation.
Joris grew up in an entrepreneurial family. After his career in accountancy he followed his heart and started his own business. During this period, he focused mainly on interim management positions at companies undergoing change. Change included business restructuring, business improvement, growth and the sales process of a company.
Achieving change towards improvement together
Joris’ strength is taking a deep dive into the organisation to make complex matter manageable. During his business improvement projects, he sometimes ends up in departments that have nothing to do with finance. But that’s exactly where he finds the challenge: that by working together you can manage to bring about change and improvement. His decision to join Thexton Armstrong stems from his passion for SMEs and his conviction that together we can make a difference.
Joris has been able to make a major contribution to the growth of companies, both as an employee and as an entrepreneur. A good example is a dental chain that he has been able to support for a few years during the growth from 7 to 50 branches as a result of takeovers. The chain is now the largest in the Netherlands and has branches beyond its national borders.
From January 2019 his focus has been on structuring the financial processes in change processes such as growth, acquisitions and reorganisations. He acts as a sparring partner for management and shareholders on strategic issues within the organisation.
Joris was born and raised in Breda and does not miss a single home game of the local soccer club NAC. He likes to run and cycle. Joris is married to Sandra, with whom he has two children.
